Predicting your cloud costs a year in advance can be challenging—but if you're using AWS, there's an easy way to get a smart estimate.
With the “Estimated Cost After 1 Year” widget, anyone using AWS can view monthly cloud cost predictions powered by DeepAR, a deep learning algorithm from AWS SageMaker. This model provides a forward-looking view of your cloud spending, helping you plan ahead with greater confidence.
The widget displays projected monthly costs for the next 12 months and allows you to compare them with your current cloud usage. You can instantly see whether your cloud spend is expected to increase or decrease, giving you clear insight into trends and future budgets. Estimates are refreshed monthly—both before and after billing is finalized—to keep your forecasts up to date.
To use it, go to Cost Management > User Dashboard, switch to Edit Mode, and add the widget titled “Estimated Cost After 1 Year.” You can then resize and reposition it as needed to fit your dashboard layout.
