OpsNow FinOps Plus Cost Anomalies feature allows users to define thresholds to detect unusual cloud spend patterns.
You can choose between two threshold types:
- Percentage-based threshold (%)
- Triggers when the actual spend exceeds or falls below the expected spend by a defined percentage
- Example: “Trigger an anomaly if cost exceeds expected spend by 20%”
- Amount-based threshold ($)
- Triggers when the difference in spend exceeds a specified dollar amount
- Example: “Trigger an anomaly if cost is more than $1,000 over or under expected spend”
These thresholds can be applied with the following granularity:
- Period comparisons: Last 3 days vs. previous 3 days, last 7 days vs. previous 7 days, etc.
- Detection scope: By Account, Product, or Region
